Repeat Performance

It's funny how efficient I can be when I set my mind to it. Over the last few weeks I've been trying to recreate on paper the steps I used to make make the wall hanging that is currently up at Cool Cottons. Oh, and I've decided to name it "Don Quixote's Dragon."

So this last week I made up a new one, and began taking detailed notes as I went. And then it fell apart. Not the sewing – the note-taking. I just got so caught up in the process! Swept away, y'all can understand, yes?

And the purpose for the note-taking was to work toward writing out instructions for this little guy. As with many things, I started making it much more complicated than it needed to be and who wants to read complicated instructions??

Especially on the units shown above. So instead I said, "Sally forth!" and forth I did sally. Until I ended up with a whole new quilt top, using some Kaffe and friends (specifically Philip Jacobs and Brandon Mably) fabrics.
